Abroad Experience is an international recruitment agency specializing in assisting expatriates with EU language skills to find employment opportunities within the Netherlands.
Our project centered on the redesign of the Abroad Experience website, which had not been updated since 2015. The primary issues were a cluttered navigation menu and a user experience that could be improved.
The core challenge was to lighten the navigation menu by simplifying and restructuring the pages for a more user-friendly experience.
Simultaneously, we modernized the user interface with a fresh and colorful design, incorporating custom illustrations that better represent the company.
Additionally, we developed new content to inform job seekers about the agency’s recruitment process and also provide insights for companies seeking recruitment assistance.
UX UI Designer – Web developer
This project led to significant improvements, including:
I started this project by doing an audit of the existing website, its performance, and analytics to identify all the pain points the user was facing during their interaction with the website.
Because the experience of job seekers with Abroad Experience does not stop just after they get hired, I also took into account the full journey and the different channels used by the company to be able to give the user the best experience from the beginning until the end.
Abroad Experience has a double target groups they want to attract and inform on their website: Foreign job seekers and companies looking to hire new employees. The main challenge was therefore to create a website that would be attractive and user friendly for both target groups.
Working on this project allowed me to deepen my knowledge of UX Design for complex and heavy content websites and get better at web development working with WordPress.
